London, 21 December 2020: The Container Owners Association – the international organisation representing container shipping lines and container leasing companies worldwide – is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Nigel Stribley, Director, Blue Sky Intermodal (UK) Ltd,  to its Board of Directors.

Mr Stribley joins five other Directors, who represent some of the world’s largest container owners, on the Board of the Container Owners Association.

“It is a great honour – both for me personally, and for  Blue Sky Intermodal – to join the COA Board,” Mr Stribley says. “This position carries considerable responsibility and I will do my best to promote the COA and to support the wide range of initiatives that the COA is working on. The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 has presented the container shipping industry with unprecedented challenges this year, and this will continue for the foreseeable future. I am looking forward to working with the COA Board and our Members to provide tangible membership benefits, with the focus on promoting safety, improving efficiency, developing common standards and encouraging environmental best practices.”

Commenting on the appointment, Uffe Ernst-Frederiksen, Chairman of the COA, said: “We are delighted to welcome Nigel Stribley to the COA Board. Mr Stribley has been a strong supporter of the COA since it was launched. Mr Stribley managed the COA’s Alternative Materials Work Group for many years, and he has spoken regularly at the COA’s Member Meetings. His contribution and commitment to the COA are valuable and very much appreciated.”
